Job Description

Service Development Volunteers will oversee the development and launch of three key provisions: ‘Talk It’ messaging service, Virtual Talking Service (VTS), and our Pal & Pen penpal scheme. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the volunteers will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of these initiatives, leveraging volunteer support and external engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Development:

– Develop strategic plans for the Talk It messaging service, Virtual Talking Service (VTS), and Pal & Pen penpal scheme, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
– Conduct market research, analyse trends, and assess user needs to inform the design and development of each initiative.
– Identify opportunities for collaboration, partnership, and resource mobilisation to support the successful launch and sustainability of the initiatives.

Initiative Development and Launch:

– Oversee the development and implementation of the Talk It messaging service, Virtual Talking Service (VTS), and Pal & Pen penpal scheme, from concept to launch.
– Work closely with volunteer teams, and other stakeholders to design user-friendly services, establish operational protocols, and ensure quality assurance.
– Develop marketing and communication strategies to promote awareness, recruit participants, and drive engagement with each initiative.

Volunteer Engagement:

– Foster a collaborative and inclusive volunteer culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
– Contribute time within your availability to volunteer.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

– Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and indicators to identify areas for improvement.
– Use evaluation findings to make data-driven decisions, adapt strategies, and enhance services over time.

Qualifications Required

- Communications, social sciences, non-profit management, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in project management, service development, or a related area, preferably within the non-profit or social sector.
- A drive for designing and launching innovative initiatives or programs, particularly in the areas of messaging platforms, virtual support services, or community engagement.
- Strong communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mobilise volunteers.
- Proficiency in technology platforms, digital communication tools, and data management systems.
- Commitment to the organisation's mission, values, and principles of volunteering and community service.
